Mid-State Industrial Service is a closely held, owner-operated Oregon company with roots dating back to 1970. Founded in Eugene by Fred and Mary Dodson, Mid-State began as a local sweeping company and grew over the decades into one of Oregon’s most trusted providers of sweeping, industrial cleaning, stormwater, and environmental services.
Today, Mid-State is led by Blake and Cindi Olsen, who purchased the company in 2021 after Blake had already spent years inside the business as General Manager. Before ownership, Blake worked across the daily realities of Mid-State, including operations, scheduling, sales, compliance, personnel, and field support. That hands-on experience continues to shape how the company is run today.
Blake and Cindi’s goal has never been to reinvent Mid-State. It has been to protect the reputation built over more than 55 years and to strengthen the company for the next generation. That means investing in people, equipment, safety, training, systems, and expanded services so customers can solve more problems with one trusted Oregon contractor.
We are not a national franchise, and we are not a call center handing work off to subcontractors. We are a local company with our own fleet, our own crews, our own leadership, and our own accountability on every job.

Mid-State has continued to grow because our customers’ needs have grown. What started with sweeping has expanded into a broader group of services that help municipalities, contractors, industrial facilities, property managers, and commercial sites reduce downtime, protect infrastructure, and keep work moving.
In recent years, Mid-State has added and expanded its services, including CCTV inspection of storm and sewer lines, hydroblasting, tank cleaning, drain line jetting, hydro excavation, vacuum excavation, storm drain cleaning, and other specialty support. We have also continued to invest in dispatch, fleet tracking, safety training, equipment maintenance, operational systems, and team development.
The goal is simple: preserve the local relationships and accountability Mid-State was built on while giving customers a stronger, more capable partner for larger, more complex, and more time-sensitive work.
