About Us

Family owned since 1970, Mid-State Industrial Service has been providing quality parking lot, industrial and construction sweeping, industrial vacuum loading, jet-vac and hydro-vac excavation services to the Lower Willamette Valley and beyond.

Fred and Mary Dodson purchased a small sweeping company in Eugene on July 1st, 1970. Fred immediately began updating equipment and improving quality and productivity. Within the first year, most of the equipment had been replaced. Jim Dodson was asked to come to Mid-State in 1974 after he had finished college and been working for a year at Mack Truck as a mechanic.

The company continued to grow in size and diversity. In 1980 the first Super Sucker Vacuum Loader was added for industrial cleaning jobs. In 1983 the first Camel Jet/Vac was brought in to clean drain lines and catch basins.

In 1981 Dan Dodson came to work at Mid-State for a summer job. He never left.

Mid-State expanded into the Portland area in the mid 1980s. At first it serviced several small cities from its Eugene location on a monthly basis. In 1985 Mid-State opened a branch in Tualatin, and Dan moved to Sherwood to manage the operation.

Pat Dodson came to work at Mid-State in 1990 after working for years in the equipment fabrication field.

In 1996 Mid-State Industrial Service made another big change when Jim and Debbie Dodson bought out Mary and Fred's stock in the company.

Mid-State Industrial Service continues to grow, improve its equipment, hire the best employees and train them well.
